Oh, that is just so cool, having the a provence heritage like that! I have Hungarian heritage... a Grandmother ( paternal 100%, 1st generation American ) and I just happen to have always loved Alphonse Mucha's work. My Mother's family is from France, several generations back, and some of her relatives are on the plaque at William and Mary College in Williamsburg for fighting in the American Revolution. They've gone back much further into their geneology, and have found someone that has gone back many centuries. Her hope is to go back to France and find out more herself. We live in the Knoxville area... right between the two ranges of the Cumberlands and the Smokies... very cool here today, but a lovely day also. As for the bottle art... I guess some of the Champenois was for bottles, but not all... it was very early in the morning. I have an Uncle that was imortalized on the cover of the Saturday Evening Post, by John Falter.

I found you on another profile... and clicked on your avatar, because of what it was! Of course, when you see something you like, you want to see more!

True, some of those that I posted by Alphonse Mucha, were Spaniards, not French. Just liked his work, and with some of his other art, being of our family, thought that I would go ahead and post it together. Wow, so what is your French Family Name? Perhaps we have some blood relations! We are only a few, here stateside, but many in France, and other places, like South America. My brothers live in California, and Utah. We were born in Texas. There is a cousin from France, who also lives in California, and perhaps, several more distant Champenois stateside.

My oldest brother, does Genealogy and may be able to trace your heritage much further back. Ours goes to 1005, so far....mostly France, but also Scotland and some in Wales, and a bit in England. It is really interesting to get to know your entire family history as far back as can be found. Many countries didn't keep records during the dark ages, due to plagues killing so many off. But, those that did, kept fairly accurate records. Usually, they can found by Birth/Death/and Marriage records. It gets a little more complicated, once they cross the ocean. Here in America, many foreigners had to change the spelling of their name (or even change their name, altogether)....to make it easier to be said and spelled in English. For example, on the English side of our family, is Akin...before they came stateside, it was Aiken. The Aikens are mostly English, with some French. Then, we have the McDonalds who are Scottish with some Welsh. We are related to the Roses. They were the actual family from "The War of The Roses"! Anyway, if you'd like help with your ancestral history, just email my brother, Cecil Champenois @ "cecilchampenois@yahoo.com", and tell him that his sister, Cecilia sent you to him for help. Thank you so much, Carja! I needed that pink rose, it is such a pretty and cheerful sight! Have been under the weather with illness, hospital visits, and surgery, for some time now. Glad to try to get past it all, and live another day. Sorry to have not been online much lately, to return your daily visits. But, again, thanks for the visits and beauty that you always share!

Thank you Muset. Only, it's not label art....my Family are the historic "CHAMPENOIS" of France, and the avatar that I chose, is a Champenois relative painted for a Champagne bottle back in the late 1700s. Now that you are my friend, you can view my pofile and see the other Champenois women painted for Champagne bottles, too. But, alas you are correct anyway....seeing as how I do enjoy Label Art! Which site did you see me on?

Today, I am enjoying the cool weather....I love cold, rainy, or cool weather! The heat of the south is rather exhausting, for me. We are currently in the southeast USA, but look forward to a retirement move to the eastern mountains, or even France, one of these days!
